A Surprise from Michael

Gene Kelly in "Singin' in the Rain"


Michael sent an enormous bouquet of flowers to the much-acclaimed dancing artist Gene Kelly, who was recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a heart attack. On the little note attached to the flowers Michael had written: "I have a surprise waiting for you at home."

When Gene Kelly returned home, in fact, he found the special surprise that Michael prepared for him: Michael had bought Gene's dancing shoes from "Singin' in the Rain" and had them bronzed. They were mounted on a plaque with the words"You're the greatest dancer in the world. Love, Michael Jackson."
