J5 - Get It On!

Hellzapoppin!!! Think that's a dirty word?! Well, not this time, kiddies - cos this was the name of a special show The ABC-TV Comedy Hour presented last March that made everybody go "bananas!" Billed as "a madcap variety review," the wild and woolly program featured your fav five-the Jacksons-and a special sixth-little brother Randy, who played the conga drums and danced a few fancy steps! Also doing nutty things on this slapstick blend of vaudeville-and-burlesque were Jack Cassidy (famous father of superspectatular David), Ronnie Schell, Lynn Redgrave and Rex Reed. Making brief "cameo" appearances were tunny Ruth Buzzi and Carol Burnett's good-lookin' sidekick Lyle Waggoner. That's not all-the Volantes rode unicycles and Bob Williams entertained with his dog "Louie."

Music 'n madness marked every moment of the entertaining hour-with music that was the most when performed by your very own Jackson 5! Michael belted out Got To Be There-and he was very much there, in fact! Those beautiful Jacksons-in their colorful-as-ever garb-also sang Sugar Daddy and Brand New Thing.

To prove that more of a good thing isn't necessarily too much, didn'tcha think rambunctious Randy was so good that he should always be part of the Jackson 5 act?!

Dig the dandy duds an these bright boys! Hope you saw them on color TV-so you could tell that absolutely every color of the rainbow was represented in their outfits' VIM

The guys' vests Flowers were big this night. Michael's and Jackie's shirts were veritable gardens, And Marion's outfit was not exactly dull, either- his print shirt, wow-ee pants and wide belt looked super' Aha! The mood changes and so do the boys clothes!! Marlon donned overalls with perky owls perched all over them-and Jackie's shirt was ruffled and wide open at the chest.
